No people, no subway...

Recently I found myself walking around the city in the evening... It was after class and it started to get dark... Amazing what is possible these days with modern camera equipment!

This image is taken where I used to spend a lot of time... Close to the Flatiron Building... Where a lot of photo labs used to be... You know the ones used for processing film necessary for image taking purposes before the advent of digital... I guess the mix of those two worlds made me melancholic...

This is quite some time later that evening after a longer walk with a friend... Me trying to cut over from the East Side to Penn Station... I guess the city that never sleeps can get quite quiet after all...

Just love the monochromatic gray... With orange exception...

These are pretty much taken across from Penn Station... There was a work crew fixing something a little further up the street, but I became fascinated by the way simple things like pavement and concrete looked late at night with artificial lighting...

Second one in that series...

Number 3...

Last one for now... I like how these look... Might need to revisit them with a tri- or monopod...

Weird collection of strange moments...

Another few days have passed since my last post and one day I even forgot my camera at home running errands... Still happy with what I got... Not sure what's happening, but the mood is a little strange in a lot of these images... By the way: This is post # 100!!! Yeah!!! Thanks for reading! :)

Love the top one... His eyes are fabulous! Dramatic!

Don't know why, but this one makes me smile!

Not sweet...

Energetic!

Break....

Quite far away...

Love this one!

Driven...

Shades in the subway award goes to...

Little girl quite interested in passing stranger...

Quite impressed how the green on the top rendered... I don't think it looked like that... Need to take a closer look tomorrow!  But of course that's not all I like about the image! ;)

Odd moment... Feels like she's floating...

From another time?

Talking to her friend about personal details... I guess girls really do do that!

In the mood? Or not so much?

Frustrated that the train just left...

After the rain...

So, the heat broke finally yesterday... With a a big thunderstorm and loads of rain... Quite exciting actually... Here are some images from after most of the rain and storm had passed...

Just love the colors and his face... Everything seems so calm...

Wet, but happy...

Excited... Tense? Can't really tell!

Serious!

Definitely after the storm!

Not quite as impressive as I have seen in other people's pix, but wet nevertheless!

There was still some rain and people got creative...

Intense... In blues...

Not quite what I had in mind, but still neat...

In their own world... each...

Rock star...

In style!

I've seen him a few days in a row now...

I told you: Patterns are en vogue this year!

What's going on here?

Real blue!

Just looking...

Deep...

I like seeing books... Although I haven't bought one in quite a while... It's a bummer that they closed the Borders at Columbus Circle!

That's about a block and a half from me...

Hot and hotter...

The temperature is rising in the system...

I was just moved by the tenderness displayed by this couple. Good for them!

As fashionable as always: Shades in the subway!

All riled up!

She's a model and...

My camera has a mind of its own... Switched itself to a much higher ISO than needed...

Here too, but I still liked both of the shots enough to keep them!

I guess there is a real demand for math tutors around here!

Interesting styling!

Remnants of a smile...

Just love this one!

And this one too!

Interesting games kids are playing these days!

Hold the door!!!

Friend and co-aikidoist Mathew...

Told you it's hot down there!

Mickey Rourkeish, no?

Had to try to get a closer shot...

There are even "Middle European" looking people in the subway these days...

Waiting... Waiting...

Strong face!

Dulled expressions, by heat or monotony, who knows? (Maybe I just saw too much of Henri the French cat!)

Not sure what to say here...

What is that card for?

Neat how the colors fit! Pink, white and yellow!

 Mysterious drama...

Marines to the rescue!
